National Centre for Child Protection visits Wendywood Primary School
Managing director of the Child Protection Hotline, Danie van Loggerenberg shares his time with the learners of Wendywood Primary School as they discuss the importance of respecting others and the effects of bullying.
With their fight against bullying and educating children on the importance of respecting others, members of the National Centre for Child Protection paid a visit to talk to the learners of Wendywood Primary School.
The organisation, which primarily focuses on building the self-esteem of learners, started its operation at Wendywood Primary School on January 23.
Managing director of the Child Protection Hotline Danie van Loggerenberg led the discussion with the learners. Through one of his topics, Loggerenberg mentioned one of the key elements in reducing the rate of bullying within schools.
“If you focus on what you need to do and strive to be the best version of yourself, then there is less time in the day to criticise and bully others,” said the managing director.
Loggerenberg described to the learners of Wendywood the importance of self-love through an analogy of a phone and charger. “The amount of time one uses to charge their mindset towards positive thinking, the more they’ll be energised and living accordingly to where they what to be in life.”
The organisation is set to visit various schools in South Africa to share their knowledge and build a brighter future for all.
“If there are any issues involving a child, we encourage anyone to report it to ensure that the child receives the help they may need. The Child Protection Hotline is available through calls, WhatsApp and SMSs.”
