March 3: The Ponte City Challenge

The Ponte City Challenge is a unique idea that originated from the country-wide issue of load-shedding. The iconic Ponte Towers has 54 floors, 948 flights of stairs and four times a year Dlala Nje challenges the City of Joburg to survive the Ponte City Challenge. On March 3, they will host their first challenge at Berea, Johannesburg. The Ponte City Challenge will start with registration at Dlala Nje’s community centre at 07: 00 and, everyone will receive a number and a stopwatch. After registering introductions will be done and then attendees will go down to the core of the building for warm-ups, then a group of 15 people at a time to start the challenge from the bottom floor to the 54th floor. At the finish line, they will take everyone’s time, and depending on your finishing time you will receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal and then enjoy a light breakfast over amazing views from their venue on the 51st floor.
