Redhill School is proud and thrilled about their learner, who was chosen to represent South Africa at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).

Giana Govender, who will be at the prestigious event from July 22 to 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, looks forward to enjoying and learning more.

Her being selected among the top four learners in South Africa for this esteemed competition is a testament to her unwavering dedication, passion, and exceptional talent in the field of chemistry.

According to Joseph Gerassi, executive head of Redhill School, Giana’s remarkable achievement reflects her commitment to excellence and her outstanding abilities.

“The International Chemistry Olympiad serves as a gathering of the brightest young minds in the realm of chemistry from across the globe. Participants undergo rigorous testing of their knowledge and skills through a comprehensive five-hour laboratory practical exam and a five-hour written theoretical examination, conducted on separate days.”

Gerassi added that the event provides a platform for learners to showcase their expertise, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in the field of chemistry.

“We are incredibly proud of her achievement, and we are confident that she will excel on the international stage.”
