The first meridian hour at Varsity College

Welcoming all the students to the campus was one of the highlights of the IIE Varsity College Sandton's social committee table.

Welcoming all the students to the campus was one of the highlights of the IIE Varsity College Sandton’s social committee table. The day was marked as the first ‘meridian hour’ of the 2024 academic year.

Anto Kagisho, the communication person at the college said, “Meridian hour is a time during which students can find their feet and their tribe with on-campus social, cultural, and community initiatives.” She highlighted that the social, sports, VC cares, and career centre committees shared information with first- and fourth-year students via their information tables.
“This was a great opportunity for students to engage with the committees and sign up for the sports teams, cheerleading, volunteering, among others.”

First-year student Wayde Fourie said he enjoyed the first day at campus, and being exposed to all the student committees was exciting. “As much as we are here for the academics, we are also here to create memories through the variety of student experiences, and the different student committees make all that possible off campus,” he said.
