Varsity College Sandton delights learners with Easter egg hunt extravaganza

Grade R learners from Afrikka Tikkun were hosted at Sandton and they were able to hunt for Easter eggs around the campus.

The IIE Varsity College Sandton campus transformed its campus into a haven of excitement and joy as it hosted an Easter egg hunt for some of the children from Afrika Tikkun.

The event, organised by the VC Cares (student volunteer body) members, saw enthusiastic participation, eager to indulge in the Easter spirit and hunt for hidden treasures.

According to the communications person at the college Anto Kagisho, the Easter eggs for the hunt were donated by students and staff.

“52 boxes of Easter eggs collected on campus were also donated to Afrika Tikkun and Forest Farm.”

She added the children were served lunch to give them energy for the Easter egg hunt.

“We are truly grateful to the IIE’s Varsity College Sandton for annually hosting our children. This is one of the most anticipated days for the children as they go home with some Easter eggs, which they then share with their siblings and parents,” said Patricia Matyhumza, a Grade R teacher at Afrika Tikkun.

Matyhumza added the smiles and delight on the faces of the learners as they ran around and hunted for the Easter eggs always left them feeling great.

“The stories of who got the most eggs on the drive back to Afrika Tikkun are always so blissful.”
