This year’s theme, ‘Step into My Slippers,’ focuses on empathy, fun, and stepping into the slippers of brave children. This simple act demonstrates solidarity and support for these children, who often spend their days in slippers due to their health conditions.

Reach For A Dream’s CEO, Julia Sotirianakos said, “Our children face unimaginable struggles daily in the hospital. Their courage and resilience are awe-inspiring.”

Sotirianakos added that the NPO called on the public to purchase a sticker and step into their slippers on Slipper Day. By the public stepping into their slippers, they would be stepping into the youngsters’ world, showing them they were not alone in this fight.

A parent to a Reach For A Dream beneficiary Corene Prinsloo expressed her gratitude to the organisation.

“My daughter was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma cancer which develops in tissues deep within the arms, legs, and feet, and 1 in 1000 children. My daughter’s lungs however were affected which left her with 40% lung capacity and on home capacity 24/7. Reach For A Dream fulfilled her desire and changed her life; she met her favourite singer Snotkop.”
