Fredman Drive as well as West and Maude streets will be closed off until October 27 to accommodate the setup and operations of Pride Village. The village is expected to serve as a key part of this year’s 35th year anniversary of LGBTQIA+ Pride of Africa 2024 celebrations in Johannesburg.

Grayston Drive, Rivonia Road and 5th Street have been suggested as alternative routes for motorists to consider when travelling in, around, and out of the city centre.
JMPD will be placed at strategic points to manage traffic and safety.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time and use these alternative routes to minimise any inconvenience.

“We appreciate the public’s cooperation and patience as we work together to ensure the success and safety of this event,” the event’s organisers said. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding and support in making this event a success.”
