Tara Hospital aids staff with mental health wellness day
Tara Hospital marked mental health wellness day with activities promoting positive mental health for the staff within its walls, as well as fighting the stigma of discussing mental health in professional spaces.
Tara The H Moross Psychiatric Hospital hosted its annual staff mental health wellness day on October 17, with the theme: It’s Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in professional environments, and to challenge the stigma that often surrounds it.

Staff members were encouraged to take active steps toward improving their psychological well-being, both individually and collectively.

The hospital’s internal celebration featured a range of interactive and wellness-focused activities, including a fun walk, aerobics sessions by Virgin Active, and sports and recreation exercises.
Health services, such as TB and breast cancer screening, as well as HIV and Aids counselling and testing, were also offered on-site.
Tara Hospital collaborated with several partners and exhibitors to create an engaging, educational environment for staff.
The day reflected the hospital’s broader commitment to promoting a healthy, supportive workplace culture, where employees’ mental and emotional wellness are prioritised.
