Deadly shooting rocks Kew intersection

A woman was killed and a driver injured when gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in Kew.

The South African Police Service has opened a case of murder and attempted murder following a shooting at the corner of 1st and 3rd roads in Kew on February 1.

According to police, two unknown suspects approached a vehicle and opened fire.

A 49-year-old woman was fatally wounded, while the driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said investigations are ongoing.

“At this stage, the motive for the shooting is unknown, and no arrests have been made. Police are following up on all leads to trace the suspects involved.”
