Tragic hit and run in Rivonia, Sandton under investigation
Police are on the hunt for the driver who was last seen driving a grey Ford Ranger.
There is a disturbing video on social media depicting a tragic incident in Rivonia on 13th Avenue, Sandton, on April 5.
In the video, a victim is seen being driven over several times and fatally injured in what appears to be a deliberate act.

The vehicle involved in the incident was a grey Ford Ranger, which fled the scene immediately after the impact.
A case of murder opened
According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, police received a complaint about the incident and found a man lying on the roadside with injuries.
“The paramedics declared him dead on the scene. According to information at hand, the victim reportedly argued with the shop owner and allegedly hit the shop owner’s vehicle with a brick, breaking the windscreen. The shop owner reportedly came out and drove over his body several times before fleeing the scene,” said Nevhuhulwi.
A case of murder has been opened for further investigations, and no one has been arrested as yet.
A manhunt has been launched to identify and apprehend the suspect.
According to a message from the Sandton Community Policing Forum (CPF), “Sandton SAPS and Sandton CPF are requesting assistance from the community on the whereabouts of a suspect allegedly linked to a murder in Sandton recently.”
The suspect was last seen driving a grey Ford Ranger in the Sophiatown area, which has since been abandoned.
