President directs police to prioritise Kempton Park women killings
Government promises urgent action as law enforcement agencies step up investigations into recent deaths in the area.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has directed police to prioritise investigations into the recent killings of women in and around Kempton Park.
He extended his deepest condolences to the affected families, noting that government shares the concerns of South Africans and mourns the lives lost.

Law enforcement agencies are working to establish the facts and bring those responsible to justice.
The president said he had spoken to the minister of police and the acting national police commissioner, who briefed him on the investigation.
He has directed that no stone be left unturned in the inquiries.

Law enforcement agencies are undertaking this work in partnership with citizens, relying on community information to help end the attacks.
“As a nation, South Africans must stand up for the rights, safety and dignity of women and girls,” Ramaphosa said.
