St Stithians College had a big outdoor matric results celebration, for matriculants from the boys’ college, girls’ college and their families to enjoy.
This included performances by the school’s marimba band, and a huge banner for matriculants to sign.
Both the girls’ and boys’ colleges achieved a 100% pass rate, with 100% and 99% Bachelor’s Degree pass rates, respectively.

Head of the girls’ college Dr Sally James and head of the boys’ college David du Toit said these learners did not have an easy ride but they showed determination and strength to succeed.
“The girls really exceeded expectations, they are a creative and talented bunch,” James said.

“They are change-makers who will make their mark on the world.”
Du Toit said the secret to the boys’ success was their willingness to work together and help each other succeed.
“They had to suffer through the pandemic and lockdown for two or three years but they held each other accountable and supported each other in their studies,” he said.

In an interesting turn of events, three of the boys all received the exact same mark, and two of them are identical twins.
Aiden Zeeman and brothers Armand and Roald Carstens all achieved 90.85%.
The twins will study medicine, while Aiden will study actuarial science, all at the University of Cape Town.
