VOX POP: How often do you attend Community Police Forum(CPF) meetings in your sector?

Community Policing Forums (CPFs) bring the police and the community together to solve problems by bridging the gap between the public and the police.

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) is a legal community structure established in terms of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Act that is mandated to facilitate community-police relations within a specific police station precinct (police station boundary) and serves as the community’s mouthpiece with the police and vice versa on policing.

Sandton locals share their views on whether they attend community police forums or not.

Here is what they have to say:

Lerato Makalima: Not often, I am always busy and they normally hold meetings very late, sometimes I work night shifts so I do not get the time to attend. What I do is just check on Facebook and the community groups for the latest updates.

Lonwabo Lufele: I often engage in community policing forum meetings in my area because I believe that I deserve to know what is going on in my community. We facing problems such as potholes, water leaks, and robbery.
