Presented by the exuberant Khahliso Nyatlo, this year’s production hosted a star-studded panel of judges – Micasa trumpeter Moshe ‘Mo-T’ Kgasoane, Mrs Gauteng 2024 finalist Kimberley Sobantu-Tshuketana, media personality Elly ‘The Entertainer’ Majola, and Bryneven’s very own music teacher June Clayton.

The show was opened by the previous year’s winners, Chloe Alers and Jenna Biart performing an acrobatic sequence of aerial manoeuvres. The first half before the interval included 10 performances – each as impressive as the last.

Load-shedding kicked in shortly after contestant 10, Ty Van Wijk took to the stage. Van Wijk, showing professionalism beyond his years as a Grade 3 learner, was undeterred by the lights going off and carried on performing as audience members shone their cellphone torches in his direction.

The second half was equally as outstanding as the first. After the interval, Grade 4 learner Tanush Singhal opened the half with guitar skills beyond his years. Eleven acts later, the judges were ready to announce the winners from the two halves of the show.
