Emma shows off her remarkable voice in Bryanston

Now that Claustrophobic has been released, Emma is setting her sights on completing her debut extended play (EP) which is expected to drop in 2024.

For 16-year-old pop star Emma Temlett, music has always been a passion as she has been working hard over the past few years to discover her sound and hone in on her talent.

On the evening of October 7, she hosted a full-blown event at the Café Del Sol Botanico in Bryanston to raise funds for her first music album.

The learner at Redhill High School in Sandton writes her songs and has officially stepped into the limelight as she premieres her powerful debut single, Claustrophobic.

Claustrophobic is an anthemic, upbeat pop track with a poignant impression that evokes emotion while making the listener want to move simultaneously. On this track, I wanted to share my journey in my friendships.”

Emma said she had always had a passion for singing and wore her heart proudly on her sleeve because of her love for songwriting.

“I always knew I wanted to make music, solely because of the way music makes me feel, and I aim to create music and tell stories that allow people to feel their emotions in a world where true feelings are suppressed.”

She believes that nothing heals the heart like a good song, and she hopes her music has that effect on people.

Emma highlighted that the line in the song ‘You stopped breathing and I couldn’t feel a pulse’ described to the listener that when she had given her heart to someone, she had loved with everything she had, and it was not being reciprocated.

“In the song, I outpour the love that makes the person feel claustrophobic something that has led to a lot of heartbreak.”
