Athol’s 250th parkrun on August 24 marked a milestone in the community’s commitment to health and camaraderie.
Held at the scenic Athol Park with lush greenery and crisp morning air, the event drew participants from all walks of life, ranging from seasoned runners to families eager to embrace an active lifestyle together.

The morning began with a sense of anticipation as participants gathered, greeted by cheerful volunteers in vibrant parkrun T-shirts. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the buzz of friendly chatter and the stretching routines of eager runners preparing for their 5km challenge.

As the countdown commenced, more than 100 participants, adorned in a sea of colourful athletic gear, embarked on the picturesque route through Athol Park’s winding trails.
The event not only celebrated fitness but also community spirit.
Organisers expressed gratitude for the community’s support over the years, emphasising the parkrun’s role in promoting physical activity and mental well-being.
“Athol’s 250th parkrun is a testament to our shared commitment to health and togetherness,” Jean Baillie said.
