Amos Maungwa, a prominent figure at the South African Cricket Academy said Big Bom Lenasia, batting first, could only manage a modest total of 87/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

“Despite solid contributions, their batting struggled to break free against a disciplined Sandton bowling attack. Mankwana Moriri and Lethabo Maselesele were particularly effective, with Moriri leading the charge with an outstanding four-over spell that conceded only seven runs while taking a crucial wicket. Maselesele also impressed, with 1/6 in three overs.”

He added in response, Sandton’s batters made quick work of the target.

“Moriri was the star with the bat, blasting an unbeaten 46 runs off just 22 balls, setting the tone early for the chase. She was well-supported by Divine Lubiku, who contributed 18 runs off 18 balls, and Mosibudi Mangena, who chipped in with eight runs off 14 balls, guiding the team to victory with plenty of time to spare.”

Maungwa added the match concluded with Sandton Cricket Club Women at 90/1, well ahead of Big Bom Lenasia’s total.

“This emphatic victory underlined Sandton’s dominance and solidified their position in the ongoing 2024/2025 CGL club season.”

Maungwa praised Sandton’s performance.
