Redhill School celebrates a year of community and care
As 2024 draws to a close, Redhill School celebrates a year of making a tangible difference, from environmental cleanups to charitable outreach initiatives.
As the year 2024 comes to an end, Redhill School in Morningside reflects on a year of remarkable achievements that have deeply impacted both the school and its surrounding community.
With a focus on its core values of community and care, Redhill has proven that these principles are more than just ideals, they are actively shaping the way learners engage with the world.
Joseph Gerassi, the executive head of Redhill School, expressed immense pride in the school’s collective efforts.
“This year, our learners have lived these values in countless ways, making a tangible difference wherever they have gone.”

He added that from environmental cleanup projects to meaningful outreach initiatives, their learners have left Redhill, and other spaces, better than they found them.
“The initiatives reflect not only personal growth but also a deep commitment to making the world a better and kinder place.”
Gerassi elaborated that the Redhill learners have engaged in various projects throughout the year, including environmental efforts and charitable outreach, aiming to bring about positive change in their local community and beyond.

What stands out most, however, is the overwhelming support from the broader Sandton community. “Local businesses, parents, and residents have rallied behind the school’s initiatives, creating a strong sense of partnership that has fueled the success of many projects. The collaboration and generosity we have experienced has been nothing short of extraordinary. Your willingness to stand beside us, championing our causes and celebrating our achievements, reminds us of the incredible strength found in partnership.”
He pointed out that Redhill learners have also demonstrated how small acts of care can lead to meaningful change.
“What inspires me most is how these small acts of kindness can spark big changes, not only within our school but across the greater Sandton area.”
Looking to 2025, Gerassi is excited for the year to come.
“As we prepare to welcome a new year, I want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey. Whether through supporting our outreach programmes, partnering with us in events, or simply cheering us on, your contributions mean the world. Together, we embody the true spirit of community, working hand in hand to create a brighter future for all.”
