The competition at the 2025 Alfeco Montrose Dream Big Night Challenge brought together incredible talent, entertainment, and community spirit for a memorable evening.

The 2025 Alfeco Montrose Dream Big Night Challenge wrapped up with an unforgettable evening, leaving participants and spectators alike buzzing with excitement.

The final night of the U13 event was a testament to the high level of talent on display, with both the cricket and netball matches keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

The players’ dedication and skill were evident, making for a thrilling conclusion to the competition.

Organiser Gwen Nelson said: “It’s been a fantastic journey watching these young athletes push themselves to their limits. The energy, the camaraderie, and the incredible support from the community have truly made this a night to remember.”

She added that the evening was filled with entertainment, with a lively half-time break featuring Jay the DJ, a dazzling performance by Stageworx dancers, and an awe-inspiring helicopter landing.

“The excitement did not stop there. The Montrose community was introduced to their new mascot, while the children enjoyed face painting and balloon artistry, adding an extra touch of fun to the night.”

Nelson pointed out that before the finals began, the players stood proudly on the field for the National Anthem, performed by the talented Luyanda Mbangwa.

“The night concluded with a heartfelt prize-giving ceremony and a spectacular dance performance, capping off an event that showcased both athleticism and community spirit.”

She concluded by stating that as the U13 event concluded, the focus shifts to the upcoming U11 event in October and November.
