The main suspect in the Olorato Mongale murder case has been shot and killed in a police operation in Durban.
In a dramatic turn of events, the main suspect in the high-profile Olorato Mongale murder case has been shot and killed during a police operation in Durban.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed the incident on May 30, stating that the suspect was fatally wounded after allegedly opening fire on officers during an attempted arrest.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been officially released, had been on the run.
According to SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the main suspect in the murder case was found by SAPS hiding at a residential complex in Amanzimtoti.

“When police announced their arrival, he shot at them. Police returned fire, and he was fatally wounded. Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi is on scene.”
