Buccleuch and Sunninghill among 7 suburbs affected by flooding

Heavy rain has caused flooding in several low‑lying areas of Gauteng.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel through affected zones as heavy rain hit Gauteng on November 6.

According to the Joint Operations Committee, the following neighbourhoods are currently experiencing flooding.

  • Alberton
  • Bedfordview (N3/Gilloolys interchange)
  • Crown Mines
  • Primrose
  • Krugersdorp
  • Buccleuch, Sandton
  • Sunninghill, Sandton

Motorists and pedestrians are warned not to cross flooded roads or low‑lying bridges, as water levels can rise rapidly and conceal hazards.
