The Kamohelo Skhosana Foundation calls on community to help bring Christmas joy to families in need

After touching over 700 lives last year across Tembisa and Alexandra, the foundation and Audrey’s Haven are once again calling on communities to join hands in spreading love and joy this festive season.

In the true spirit of generosity, the Kamohelo Skhosana Foundation (KS Foundation), based in Bramley is continuing its heartfelt mission to bring joy and dignity to those who need it most.

Partnering once again with Audrey’s Haven, the foundation has launched its Annual Christmas Drive, an initiative that has already transformed countless lives through generosity and compassion.

Last year’s drive brought smiles to more than 400 children and more than 300 adults in Tembisa and Alexandra, with the distribution of 400 toys, 20 Shoprite hampers, and other essentials, but most importantly, moments of laughter, love, and belonging.

This year, the drive is expanding its reach to Mahealo in the North West, a rural community where daily life is marked by hardship and scarcity.

For the KS Foundation, this is not just about charity, it’s about restoring dignity and spreading hope where it has long been missing.

“Every year, we are reminded that giving is about more than just gifts,” said Kamohelo Skhosana, founder and director of the KS Foundation.

“It’s about showing people, especially children that they are seen, that they matter, and that they are not alone. Hope is one of the most powerful gifts we can share.”

The foundation is calling on individuals, families, schools, and businesses to donate non-perishable food, toys, clothes, school supplies, and Christmas treats.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, plays a part in lighting up the festive season for families facing daily challenges.

“This campaign is about community,” Skhosana added. “It’s about South Africans standing together, reminding one another that love still exists, and that in unity, we can make the world a kinder place, one family, one smile, one act of giving at a time.”
