Africa Cricket Cup ends on a high as young champions shine
Stallions, Panthers, and Raptors celebrated championship victories as the Africa Cricket Cup Season 4 concluded with strong performances and standout individual achievements.
The Africa Cricket Cup Season 4 came to an exciting close, with Stallions U9, Panthers U11, and Raptors U13 crowned champions after a competitive series of matches that showcased emerging cricket talent from across Johannesburg North.
In addition to the championship titles, Stallions U11 and Eagles U13 were awarded the platinum trophies in their respective divisions, rounding off a successful tournament filled with teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. The final standings reflected the high level of competition throughout the season, with players stepping up to deliver impressive performances with both bat and ball.

Among the standout performers in the U13 division was Nathan Engelbrecht, from Tigers, who finished as the top run scorer with an outstanding 282 runs. Bem Bonner, from Panthers, led the bowling attack in the same age group, claiming the most wickets with 12 dismissals. In the U11 category, Nkosana Ncongwane, from Raptors, dominated with the bat, finishing as the top run scorer with 341 runs. His teammate, Reynardt Rademeyer, also made a strong impact with the ball, picking up 11 wickets during the tournament.

At the U9 level, Joshua Odendaal, from Raptors, impressed with the bat, scoring 242 runs, while Kayden Borrajeiro, from Tigers, stood out with the ball, taking nine wickets.

Tournament organiser and Cover Drive Cricket Academy head Sydwell Ndlovu praised the players for their commitment and growth throughout the competition. “We are proud of what these young players have achieved this season. The Africa Cricket Cup is not just about winning trophies; it’s about developing talent, building confidence, and creating opportunities for children to grow through sport.”
He also expressed appreciation to the schools that have supported the tournament over the years. “We would like to thank the schools that have maintained strong relationships with us and continue to support youth cricket, including Bryanston High School, Grayston Primary School, Fairways Primary School, Northcliff Primary School, and Hope School. Their support makes this tournament possible.”
