Dear Sis Dolly brings local stars to Hyde Park screening
Film enthusiasts and celebrities gathered in Hyde Park to celebrate Dear Sis Dolly, a proudly South African production that highlights ambition, resilience, and family.
A touch of glamour arrived at Nu Metro Hyde Park on July 4 as local celebrities, filmmakers and movie lovers gathered for the exclusive screening of the new South African film Dear Sis Dolly.

The red-carpet event celebrated the latest production from director Twiggy Matiwana, bringing together cast members, industry professionals and guests to mark the release of another proudly South African story.

The film features an ensemble cast including Didintle Khunou, S’Thandiwe Kgoroge, Dineo Langa and Natasha Thahane.

Dear Sis Dolly follows the journey of Mmabotsana, a social worker from Mamelodi, whose psychology practice is struggling to survive.

Hoping for a fresh start, she applies for the sought-after Sis Dolly advice columnist role at Drum magazine.

Her determination is tested when she is shortlisted alongside two younger candidates, Rameetsa and Paseka.

Over a three-month probation period, the trio compete to prove they have what it takes to become the publication’s next trusted agony aunt, with editor-in-chief Melody ‘MM’ Makaringe ultimately deciding who will earn the position.
