Fistic Havoc brings SA boxing back into the spotlight
Aquila Boxing Promotions (ABP) is one of South Africa’s most exciting and fast-growing boxing promotion companies, with the face of, and driven by, heavyweight star Kevin Lerena.
The Galleria in Sandton is bracing for more than just another fight night on June 21. It will throb with the energy of a sport on the rise, as Fistic Havoc, an electrifying eight-fight boxing showcase, takes centre stage.
Far from a routine boxing event, Fistic Havoc is a carefully curated fight card featuring a dynamic mix of professional debuts, rising stars, comeback stories, and a high-stakes international title bout.
At the forefront of this initiative is Kevin Lerena, WBC bridgerweight champion, proud Johannesburg native, and, now, a leading force behind Aquila Boxing Promotions (ABP).

With Lerena helping steer the ship, Fistic Havoc is not just about entertainment; it’s about building a powerful platform for South African boxing talent.
The headline bout promises fireworks: South Africa’s own Boyd Allen, the former MMA powerhouse turned boxing phenom, will square off against Botswana’s undefeated star Kagiso Bagwasi.
The pair will battle it out for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) All-Africa title, but the stakes go far beyond the belt. It’s a classic clash of nations, fighting styles, and reputations. A bout that encapsulates the drama and passion that makes boxing irresistible.
Adding to the night’s excitement are six compelling undercard bouts, each promising action from the opening bell:
- Kaine Fourie vs Sifiso Hlongwane,
- Lindokuhle Khuzwayo vs Jeff Magagane,
- Leo Careri vs Kangolo Tshimanga,
- Tiisetso Matikinca vs Thabiso Mpolokeng,
- Luke Hendrikz vs Thapelo Nkoane,
- Sabelo Ndwandwe vs Shawn Nkuna, and
- Rene Tshimanga vs Amedo Ekala.
Each fight brings its narrative, from young contenders chasing recognition, to seasoned warriors fighting for redemption.
