GIBS Business School: Women making moves in sports

Summit empowers South Africa’s game changers in sports.

Momentum’s third annual Women Who Make Moves in Sports Summit took place at The GIBS Business School in Illovo on August 8, drawing together athletes, industry professionals, and brand builders for two days of intense, focused learning.
The summit is not just a celebration; it serves as a platform for collaboration and action.
With masterclasses tailored to help women in sport grow their brands and deepen their impact both on and off the field, the programme was deliberate in its mix of practical insight and high-level inspiration.

In her opening remarks, Nontokozo Madonsela, chief marketing officer at Momentum, said, “When we say she owns her success, we mean it. We are not just here to clap; we are here to equip. Sport is a powerful vehicle for change, but only if the women in it are backed, visible, and financially empowered.”

Madonsela added that this year’s summit is particularly focused on legacy.

“We want to create generational change in how women are treated, covered, and celebrated in sport.”
