FNB Art Joburg 2025 opens in Sandton
Locals who are art lovers are welcome to come and indulge in bold, fresh art pieces at the FNB Art Joburg 2025.
Johannesburg’s premier art fair, FNB Art Joburg, made its much-anticipated return to the Sandton Convention Centre with a media preview on September 4.
Now in its 17th year, the fair has cemented its place as Africa’s longest-running contemporary art event, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of African and diasporic creativity.
This year’s fair is divided into seven specialised sections, each offering a different entry point into the world of contemporary art.

Gallery HUB sits at the centre, presenting carefully curated works from leading galleries across Africa and beyond, with a focus on quality over quantity.
Gallery LAB nurtures emerging galleries and hybrid spaces, offering experimental ideas and new business models to reshape the art landscape.
MAX, meanwhile, is home to large-scale installations that push the boundaries of space, while GIF is dedicated to photography.
For book lovers and collectors, the ETC section is a trove of prints, catalogues, and zines, while the ORG section shines a spotlight on Johannesburg’s major art institutions, from museums to universities.

The AUX section, sponsored by ITOO ArtInsure, brings audiences into dialogue with leading voices through talks, screenings, and lectures.
The art fair runs from September 5–7 at the Sandton Convention Centre.
