The late Madiba asked the world to spend only 67 minutes of their time during his birthday to give to those who are in need and indeed community members from different townhips in the area heeded this call.
The staff of Clinix Naledi-Nkanyezi Private Hospital participated in Mandela Day by donating equipment to Tshepong Care Centre which is in Sebokeng, Zone 14. The hospital staff donated fitted doors for the children’s bedroom and medicine cabinets which nicely fitted into their sickbay. They also managed to paint the centre’s walls, clean the yard and help with the laundry.
Groceries were also donated.
As if that was not enough the Vaal Miniac, Soweto Miniac, Pretoria Miniac, East Rand Miniac, and Mpumalanga Miniac attended to the Emfuleni Primary School in Bophelong Eext 17 where they donated food and cleared the school premises of rubble. Red Cross Evaton which is also known as Red Cross Vaal was visited by local ANC branches from Evaton and Zone 3 whose members painted the roof and walls of the building and fixed all broken doors.
