Today, 26 April 2016, Democratic Alliance Leader, Mmusi Maimane MP, will visit the DA-run Midvaal Municipality in Gauteng, where residents have had first-hand experience of the clean and people-centered governance of the DA.
Maimane will highlight the difference a DA government has brought to residents, and will be visiting several amenities built by the DA-run municipality, including a clinic, a library and a community centre. The Leader will joined by the Mayor of Midvaal, Bongani Baloyi.
The success of the Midvaal is a reflection of DA-run municipalities. Under a DA government, Midvaal was the top performing municipality in the province when it comes to financial sustainability, and has received ten clean audits in a row under the DA. Unemployment in Midvaal is also lower than anywhere else in the province, at just 12%,
Under DA governance, Midvaal municipality is the best in Gauteng at delivering services, creating jobs and sound financial management, and we intend to bring this good governance that cuts corruption and creates jobs to many more municipalities across South Africa following the upcoming Local Government Elections on 3 August this year.
