Art and Wine to SAVE the Vaal!
SAVE the VAAL’s wine tasting event takes place on Saturday, 19th November from 13:00 to 19:00 at Plot 124 Kaalplaats Road, Windsor in Vanderbijlpark. The event aims to raise funds for SAVE the VAaL to continue its work in preventing pollution of the Vaal River.

An art exhibition adds a new dimension to the wine tasting. All art exhibited is on sale with 25% of the proceeds going to SAVE.
The impressive list of artists includes:
* South African Wildlife artist, Michelle Decke expresses her great love for African wildlife by capturing the true nature of the animals.
She works in acrylics and combines her fine-art training, time spent in the African bush & 30 years of painting experience,
Michelle’s approach to painting wildlife is highly skilled, well thought out & tenderly executed.
* Prof. Ingrid Stevens (Muffin) – Prof of Fine and Applied Art at TUT
Paintings of birds with historic reference to ceramic items. Muffin uses cut-outs and pattern to enhance her paintings. She will also bring ceramic plates with similar references.
* Susan Sellschop (who is also one of the founders of SAVE) is exhibiting oil paintings of natural images and plant forms. The paintings are on a square format as if a piece of the whole
* Dianne van der Merwe. – Origami expert making stars and birds suitable for Christmas
* Yda Walt – Hand printed tea towels, aprons and other fabric items printed with African proverbs and birds.
* Christine Fischer – cloth bags and mats made by a group in Mpumalanga.
* Perseverance Ramatsekisa – traditional potter from the Venda region in Limpopo. Large bowls and pots, ideal for the garden and patio.
* Ephia Mmbidi – drawings of figures and people and life around her, using a technique of collage, marks and an exploration of color.
So join SAVE on the banks of the Vaal River on Saturday 19th November, taste fine Cape wines whilst enjoying the art. There’s also craft beer, food and other refreshments on sale. There’s music and a fun day for all to enjoy. Entrance, including wine tasting is R150 per head and it’s all to SAVE the VAAL.
