Woman airlifted to hospital after crash

MEYERTON. - ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak reports that a  54-year-old woman sustained various injuries when she was involved in a collision on a dirt road in Goeiehoek, Meyerton.

“Shortly before 12pm paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the woman still trapped in the vehicle. Local government emergency services were busy attending to her. She sustained several fractures and was in a serious condition.”

Vermaak says an emergency medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift her to Union Hospital in Johannesburg for further treatment.

“A female driver was found on the scene with minor injuries. She declined to be transported to hospital. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.” Vermaak concludes.
