VANDERBIJLPARK. – Colonel Mnxedise Mabala, regional head of the Visible Police, Colonel Mosa Landingwe, Cluster Operational Commander and Colonel Johan Dewenaar, head of Visible Police Vanderbijlpark recently tackled crime hotspots.
The trio was joined by the Home affairs Department and the By-Laws police to prove that operation “Vat Alles” undertaken recently in Vereeniging was no fluke.
They searched all suspects’ houses, raided shops and had several suspects and undocumented foreign nationals detained.
The operation, which was dubbed “Smooth operation”, started in the early morning in the notorious Becquerel Street, and part of the CBD last Thursday.
In some instances, police were forced to use a crowbar to gain entrance to houses as owners refused to open doors. Confiscated was fake money, money in safes and cigarettes. Undocumented suspects were also detained.
Police left no room for criminals and the community is singing their praises. Mabala encouraged his juniors to be stern in their work.
“My aim is to see the area crime free. We love the foreigners who are here on a mission to help build the country together. If they feel they cannot stomach what the police are doing, too bad,” he said.
