SEDIBENG.- Bafana Bafana forward Relebohile Mofokeng was once again the standout player for his Belgian side as they secured their second UEFA Europa League victory on Thursday night.

Mofokeng’s team hammered Hapoel Beer Sheva 4-0.

The former Orlando Pirates sensation produced a five-star performance highlighted by individual brilliance.

He started the match and walked off the pitch in the 79th minute with his head held high after a great display, playing as though his future depended on it.

He knew all eyes were on him with big European clubs reportedly chasing his signature.

According to reports from Belgium, Mofokeng is expected to leave the Belgian Pro League in January. Much has been written about him joining a top club in Europe, with English Premier League side Chelsea among those believed to be after the former School of Excellence playmaker.

If these rumours are accurate, Mofokeng will follow in the footsteps of previous South African players who graced English football.

It appears almost certain that Saint-Gilloise will find it very difficult to hold on to Mofokeng when the January transfer window opens.

He has consistently proven himself since joining the Belgian club by scoring or assisting, regularly making headlines. For example, he previously grabbed attention by scoring the deciding penalty for Saint-Gilloise in a Belgian pre-season cup competition, successfully handling the pressure against all odds.

Meanwhile, Mofokeng is expected to lead the attack when Saint-Gilloise hosts Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League on October 25.
