A man between the ages of 30-35, who is said to be mentally ill has allegedly died in Meyerton during the R59 unrest.

MEYERTON. – A man between the ages of 30-35, who is said to be mentally ill has allegedly died in Meyerton during the R59 unrest.

This is after protesters dug a trench in the road last night. It has been alleged that Red Ants were deployed to the scene and have since been fighting with protesters.

According to the community members, people who were going to work in the morning were stopped and searched by the Red Ants. Police and emergency personnel are on the scene.

Sedibeng Ster has not yet received confirmation from police. An update will follow as soon as more information becomes available.
