Police alerts Vaalpark residents about increase in motorbike theft

The thugs are most active between 00:00 and 04:00 on Wednesday and Thursday nights

The Police in Sasolburg warns tresidents of Vaalpark about an increase in the theft of motor bikes.  The perpetrators especially target and steal expensive BMW 1200,850,650  touring bikes. They normally operate at Faraday Street (section) near the R59 and near Karas Avenue next to Minaar Street.

The thugs operate between 00:00 and 04:00 on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The Police say  it seems they gain entrance into the yard by breaking open the gate using a gwala / breekyster and after entering the gate they poison the dogs, then take the motorbike.  It does not matter where the bike is parked – whether in the garage, carport, locked behind gates or hidden in the yard. After gaining entrance to the yard they  push the motorbike out of the premise.

The suspects are believed to be three males. The Police isn’t sure if they are armedt.  “We urge the community to put tracking devices on their bikes and never park motorbikes on pavements at night,” a Police spokesperson says.
