Gede is the reigning Miss Eloquent Vaal 2026
Linathi Gede (17) wants to give young people a voice by advocating for their rights.
Linathi Gede (17) from Sebokeng is making strides in the modelling world after winning the Miss Eloquent Vaal 2026 title.
Linathi has been in the modelling industry since Grade Seven. Currently, she is the Director of the Miss and Mister Esokwazi Secondary School pageant. She also serves as the secretary at her school.
Speaking to Ster North, Linathi explains that modelling is more than just walking on stage and strutting.
“Pageantry has created a platform for me to give young people a voice. I am a dedicated advocate for mental health and education, as I firmly believe that when individuals are mentally well and free from depression and anxiety, they are empowered to achieve their academic and life goals.
“So this is the language I speak whenever I’m given the opportunity. Through my platform, I strive to inspire, uplift, and instil confidence in other young people like myself.”
Empowering young girls to pursue their dreams fearlessly is her forte.
“Having been a girl with big dreams myself, I aspire to be a beacon of hope that illuminates the path for others to realise their full potential.”
Talking about education, Linathi says that this is something she views as highly important, as it can open doors for her.
“I want to build a future that opens doors not only for me, but for others as well. I want to be an advocate for people’s rights and make their lives better. I am torn between being a mental health and education advocate, a psychologist, and a lawyer. At the heart of it, I want to be an advocate, a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves.”
Linathi says that she is most inspired by her mom, who supports her in all her endeavours and always believes that she is capable. She hopes to win more titles in the future.
