Woman gunned down in Vanderbijlpark, police look for suspect

Police spokesperson sergeant Gertrude Makhale confirms that the Vanderbijlpark police have launched a manhunt , after a male suspect shot and killed a woman in her room at a student resident in Rutherford CW1 yesterday afternoon.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Police spokesperson sergeant Gertrude Makhale  confirms that the Vanderbijlpark police have launched a manhunt , after  a male suspect shot and killed a woman in her room at a student residence in Rutherford CW1 yesterday afternoon.  It is reported that the suspect was  seen loitering around the street right before the incident happened.

Makhale says, ” The suspect was wearing beige clothes, a hat, he is slender built and is in his early 20’s. “The Vanderbijlpark Station Commander Brigadier Nikiwe Hoaeane is very much concerned about the killing of a young woman.  She has appointed the best detective to work on this case to bring the criminal to book.   Police are also appealing to anyone who has information about the suspect to contact the Vanderbijlpark SAPS on  (016) 910-9028 and ask for Warrant Officer Alberts.”

The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous and community is advised not to confront him.
