VANDERBIJLPARK. – The name of the woman who was gunned down on Tuesday in a student residence in Vanderbijlpark has been revealed as Jabulile Nhlapo. Nhlapo (21) is said to have been a Unisa student.

Gauteng police spokesman Kay Makhubele said that the killing of women is a serious concern to police. “In most cases when two people are in a relationship and the relationship turns sour, this type of incident happens.”

Makhubele said that people should report cases as early as possible in order to prevent such incidents. Police have opened a murder case and a manhunt has since been launched in search for Nhlapo’s murder.

Since the incident occurred, Jabulile’s friends have expressed their shock and anguish, saying that she did not deserve to die in that manner. Some have  sent messages on facebook, saying that she would be missed.
