SHARPEVILLE.- Sedibeng Jazz lovers are in for a treat following a release of a Jazz CD by local artist, Bongani “Jazzman” Majola.
Majola released the 10 song CD, titled ‘Vukuzenzele’, under his stable Bo Majola Records. He started his music career at a young age in the township of Sharpeville. Majola is a self taught musician who during the political turmoil in the country in the 80’s went to seek political asylum abroad where he met and collaborated with different musicians as they performed in countries such as Tanzania, and Zimbabwe.
“I have performed with many people locally and abroad and finally I decided to go solo. With this album I want Jazz lovers to relax and enjoy themselves. I want also to thank everyone who was involved in the making of this project for their professionalism and dedication, not forgetting my family members who have always been behind me. I love you guys.”
In ‘Vukuzenzele’, Majola lets his soul out and his passion for Jazz music can be identified in tracks such as Sad Azania, Siyabonga and Ntomb’kayise which is a song named after one of his children.
