One killed, seven injured in bakkie roll-over

Several people that had been travelling on the back of the bakkie were found lying scattered around the scene

SEBOKENG – One man was killed and seven others injured this morning (11 December) after a bakkie rolled on the N1 highway near the Grasmere turn-off in Sebokeng.
Russel Meiring, Communications Officer at ER24’s Corporate Communications department, reports that their paramedics, along with several other services arrived on the scene shortly after 07:00 to find a bakkie in the centre median.
Several people that had been travelling on the back of the bakkie were found lying scattered around the scene. On closer inspection, paramedics found one man had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
Meiring reports that seven other patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. The patients were treated for their injuries, and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
