Three-year-old found after alleged hijacking

Visibly shaken toddler reunited with his family

A toddler was reunited with his family after apparently being hijacked with his father’s car earlier today.
Russel Meiring of ER24’s Communications Office reports that paramedics of this emergency service were dispatched at 09:45 to the Grasmere area in the Vaal Triangle after the local authorities found a 3-year-old toddler in an abandoned vehicle on a dirt road.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and assessed the boy, who was in the custody of the SAPS. Fortunately, the child had escaped injury although he was visibly shaken.
After the assessment, paramedics handed the child over to the father on scene.
The father stated that they had been hijacked earlier in the Randfontein area.
Local authorities are busy with further investigation.
