Three shot during business robbery in Meyerton

"It is reported that on their arrival, the culprits pretended to be looking for someone. The suspects then shot the victims, took the cash and fled the scene."

Meyerton. –  Two patrons and a tavern owner were recently  shot by robbers at a tavern in Sicelo.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Simon Mofokatsane said the tavern owner, Makhosi Mdluli (43) was preparing to close down around 23:00 when the suspects arrived.

“It is reported that on their arrival, the culprits pretended to be looking for someone. The suspects then shot the victims, took the cash and fled the scene.”

“The suspects were driving a white Toyota Avanza. Police are investigating a case of business robbery.” Mofokatsane adds.

One patron and the tavern owner were taken to hospital.
