VANDERBIJLPARK. – On Saturday 25 May 2019 Members of Sedibeng Flying Squad Sergeant Anthen Radebe and Constable Bote Sombane was on duty doing crime prevention in Sebokeng area. While patrolling members of the public gave them information about suspects driving a red BMW who was in possession of an unlicensed fire arm.
While patrolling the members saw the BMW and followed it to the Zenex garage in Sebokeng, The members quickly surrounded the vehicle ordering the driver out of the car and securing him. A Barret Riffle was found between the thighs of the passenger with 1 magazine and 10 rounds, the serial number of the Riffle was removed. Both suspects was arrested and taken to Sebokeng SAPS where they were detained in the cells on a charge of possession of unlicensed fire arm and ammunition. The suspects aged 34 and 38 appeared in the Sebokeng magistrates court on a charge of possession of unlicensed fire arm.
With the information received from the public another fire arm is taken off the streets. The South African Police Service urge community members to phone and report crime and criminal activities by phoning Crime stop anonymously on 08600 10111 or phoning 10111.
