WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD…..

i came upon you during my outreach today.
you had no food or water
you had no bed or blanket
you had no eye sight
you lay in a corner, no more use for you
an old girl, you should never have even been allowed to give birth to the most recent ( very recent) litter……i believe two….probably more, of those babies died.
you did not have the strength to push out the last one ( or two ) …..CLEARLY visible and felt between my hands. They must have died in that position a while ago already as there was no movement. And still you haemorrhaged.

Yet, none around you ……in the very bowels of hell itself ( Angelo informal settlement), seemed to notice or care.

I can’t change ANY of that.
I could only ensure, as i knelt to pick you up and carry you to my car, that you WOULD experience a loving hand and voice in your lifetime and the feeling of a soft new blanket around you as i held your face close to mine……as you were allowed to fly over the bridge……….and welcomed by every angel in heaven.
