SHARPEVILLE. – The Sharpeville police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango has urged members of the community to be extra vigilant when going to any of the cemeteries in Sharpeville.

This comes after the recent rape of a man by three other males at one of the cemeteries. Sango says that the three men’s faces were covered. They all took turns raping the victim.

“Police are urging people not to go to or walk through the cemetery alone as there are thugs roaming around. A case of rape is being investigated.”

Sango further warned Stokvel members who would be sharing their savings this December to take extra precaution.

“Please ensure that you have a place of safety where you will be sharing your savings. Otherwise, take the banking details of all the members and transfer the money into those accounts at the bank. This is a much safer way to make sure that criminals don’t steal from you.”
