ORANGE FARM. – The Orange Farm Police are investigating a case of murder after a Chairperson of the Orange Farm Taxi Association was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say that on the day, they responded to a shooting complaint at Extension 10 at Orange Farm Taxi Association offices and on arrival at the scene found two males who were shot, one of which had already died on the scene.
Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Maliehe said that through interviewing eye witnesses they found that a black Polo VW, with unknown registration numbers, came by and opened fire on these men that were sitting outside the office. Two men were wounded and one died on the scene.The deceased was identified as Themba Kubeka, the Chairperson of the taxi association.
“The other male had sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. It is not yet known what might have been the cause of this brutal act. A case docket of murder and attempted murder is opened and investigated by Orange Farm SAPS and no arrest/s have been made yet,” Maliehe said. The SAPS urges members of the community to come forth with information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
