Man stabbed to death over R30 altercation

Police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango says, " The victim died on the scene. The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested by our members. He is facing a murder charge."

SHARPVILLE. – A 34-year-old man has been stabbed and killed over a R30 brawl. The incident happened last week  at Halakwabafileyo in Sharpeville.

The victim asked his cousin to accompany him to his friend’s home where he was meant to collect R30 owed to him by the friend.

On arrival, the deceased found his friend sitting in a group with other people. He then confronted his friend and asked for his money. An argument ensued after the friend told the deceased that he only has R15.

While the two argued, one of the other males in the group took out a knife, stabbing the victim two times.

Police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango says, ” The victim died on the scene. The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested by our members. He is facing a murder charge.”
