Zwane family spends Mother’s Day with less fortunate mothers

VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Zwane family spent Mother's Day with less fortunate mothers in the community where they donated food parcels at Vanderbijlpark taxi rank.

This was not just about food parcels but more than that. The family lost their mother in 2010 in a car accident. The Zwane family was joined by friends and relatives to hand over food parcels to the mothers, with tears rolled down to their cheeks in memory of their mother. The Department of Social Development and Vanderbijlpark SAPS under the leadership of Colonel Ephraim “Mnini” Molotsi were there to ensure that lockdown regulations are observed as far as social distancing among others.

 

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Makhosazana Zwane-Siguqa said she couldn’t fold her arms to see Sedibeng deteriorating. This former Vaal Weekly and Drum Magazine Editor said that this was in the memory of their mother to spend Mother’s Day with less fortunate mothers in the community.

“I want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative. I want to thank MooiVaal Media for their contributions especially Mr Thys Ford. I was humbled by his positive response. It is heart-warming to see those mothers appreciate the little we contributed as the Zwane family,” said Zwane-Siguqa.

 

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the mothers said were humbled by Zwane family’s generosity.

“I don’t know how to thank these children for their generosity because some of us don’t have children and some of us are not working. This food parcels came at the right time when we need them most”, said Gogo Matshidiso Kgabane from Bonane. Zwane-Siguqa revealed to Sedibeng Ster she is also intends to organise netball tournament in memory of her mother.
