With sewer spillages all over the area in the past three weeks the community experienced health hazards. When Sedibeng Ster arrived residents, community leaders were hard at work to fix the sewerage channel which was blocked. It was very difficult for cars and taxi’s to enter in the main entrance of Phase 1. Kamohelo Zwane, a community member said that seeing that the situation was getting out of hand, they approached community leader, Windsor Lesalaisa, who is also Sebei Motsoeneng ANC Branch Chairperson in Ward 21.

Zwane said Lesalaisa didn’t hesitate to help with his personal resources through his company, Sabangena Trading.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank Mr Lesalaisa for his generosity and we are happy as the community because now cars, taxi’s and community can now pass through again without any difficulties especially our children. We want to thank both Mr Lesalaisa and ward councillor Mr Ananias Lekhoangana for responding positive to our call as community. This was after I took the matter to the social media in frustration and I’m happy we were able to get help,” said Zwane.
Tshepong Ward 21 Councillor Ananias Lekhoangana said that indeed the community approached him with this sewer spillages problem in the area. He said he reported the matter to the Emfuleni Local Municipality relevant department and they acknowledged receiving his correspondence. He said he made them aware about the escalating of the sewer spillages problem in the area which affected some of the houses.

“I want to thank the Tshepong, Phase 1 residents for their cooperation especially Comrade Lesalaisa for his selflessness for serving his community by using his own resources for free to help his community. This showed how much he cares about his people more than anything else,” he said.
Lesalaisa told Sedibeng Ster that this has nothing to do with political point scoring but just to help the community as much as he can.
“Some members of the community came to my house and asked me to intervene. Comrade Lekhoangana and I put our heads together to see how best we can help. This is a free service to the community,” said Lesalaisa.
