Vereeniging Magistrate’s court closed due to Covid-19 case

The Vereeniging Magistrate's Court was closed on Monday, June 29, due to a Covid-19 case in court.

According to a notice posted on the main gate, sanitation and cleaning of the courthouse will be done on June 29 and the court will reopen on Tuesday, June 30.

Members of the public were asked to appear in court again on Tuesday, June 30, to inquire about what happened to matters placed on Monday’s court role.

One of the important cases placed on Monday’s court role is the sentencing of three members of a syndicate involved in the robbery of well-known United Kingdom businessman Gary Immelman in 2011, during which Immelman was shot numerous times.

The case has been delayed for almost a decade and the convicts would hear their fate this morning.
